East coast CD launch
It’s been a while coming, but we are finally hitting the road to launch Whojigadandy in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and between. 2013 has seen us play in Tasmania at the beautiful Cygnet Folk Festival, WA at Fairbridge FolkWorld Festival and Deville’s Pad in Perth, and most recently in the Northern Territory. Two and a half glorious weeks of gigging in the balmy relaxed outback Territory! We were lucky enough to perform at the Adelaide River Music Muster and Katherine Country Music Muster … look out for those events next August … the Darwin Show, plus a heap of other great venues. The Darwin Railway Club hosted us as we opened for Big Red Marisa Quigley and then stopped on stage in her backing band. What a fun night, and so great to catch up with mates from my Territory days!
The CD launch will be particularly exciting as we hit the road with Jason Nelson, our Novacastrian mate who plays a mean trombone, a sly cabasa and dresses like a 1920′s hit man! We intend to lift the bar both musically and fashionably, to give the audience ear candy and eye wax. The songs from Whojigadandy have been well and truly road tested, and we are ready to push into the last frontier… south of the border, and the nation’s capital. Offers of big breakfasts, comfy couches and late night chats are always welcome, see you at a gig somewhere!
